being kissed on the cheekbones.
posting my favorite things via blog.
trying on hats.
Bye!
AM Radio! We had Coast to Coast AM on the radio in the living room. It made me feel a little old timey sitting by the radio listening to the announcer. But it reminded me of when I was younger with my sister trying to get "our station" with crappy reception and moving the antenna about until you got something resembling the show.
Flip Flops! I've been wanting to just fly out with my flip flops on and explore the world casually. Very beach bummy, it feels great to do during the summer.
Amelie! I watched this movie all the way through after not doing so for 5 years. I tried watching it before that, but I always stopped, and that was two years ago, so yeah. The movie is so beautiful to watch and is a pretty cute story. It's the ultimate cute movie.
Photo collections! I've been looking through my photos on my hard drive of ones I just collected because I liked them and sometimes I wish I could just pin them all on the wall. But yeah, I'm posting some of the photos from my computer drive of stuff I just collected off the internet in the last 4 years. Hope you enjoy! Sorry if I don't give credit where it's due, some of them I have no idea where they're from!
Have a good day! Enjoy the photos! Maybe I should post more of these photos in a different posts? Like photos from the depths of my hard drive? haha Do like photo collages. I don't want to get sued or something crazy so these are not my photos!
Cute cupcakes! Making them, that is! Making super pink cupcakes is a joy.BTW: That style of decorating on those store bought cupcakes is my favorite to look at.
Burlesque! I love the fun nature of it. The stripping isn't bad either. I spent last night watching old burlesque videos.
Hugs! I like a sincere hug that says you are loved.
Nailing moves! I am starting to figure out the more complicated tricks with hooping and the feeling of accomplishment is incredible.
Compliments! Are always loved and appreciated here. Been getting a bunch lately and really appreciate it today.
True blood! The new season so far is really good, enjoying each episode.
This one is short and sweet. Just wanted to get one in before the day was over
Photographing! Tom's creative restlessness has made me want to photograph! Watching his want to create made me want to pick my camera and get out there. Which is why I photographed the sunrise on Father's day. I really enjoy trying to get the photos I will use on my blogs and whatnot.
Shorts + Cowboy Boots! I think that is going to be my "official summer outfit!" My cowboy boots complete the adventrous look in my mind. It may be a little offbeat for the summer cowboy boot look but that's how I roll. I feel this is my style.
Tough Love + Corky Saint Clair! Tough Love is a boutique in Raleigh up the road from work and I bought a Corky Saint Clair necklace from there. LOVE IT! I talked to the woman who runs the store and she is really nice and will let me hoop in front of her store, as she enjoys watching hoopers. She says the movements are soothing. How cool is that?! Anyway, her store is adorable and I wanted to give her my business. I got Donnie, the bunny necklace. I love this necklace because it's very sharp and it makes it feel more handmade by leaving it so....dangerous! I like that it is also very subtle and not super flamboyant like I normally would go for.
New Haircut! My hair woman I've been seeing, made the back shorter and thinned out the back so I could get that neat shape and staying close to my head. I have very thick hair and to see it more normal makes me excited. I kept it asymmetrical I just got it more shapely. A plus: it dries faster! I completely love this look!
Backpack! I love to carry around my Jansport backpack. It has the same color theme as an astronaut, white and grey. It looks like a marshmellow on my back. I'm loving this setup for me lately because it takes all the stress off my back and I can cram more stuff in my bag! Always a good thing. I'm not a super fashionista so I want something that will hold my stuff and not attempt to take off my shoulder. I feel this bag is a good compromise.
Sea of Shoes + Atlantis Home! I am loving the updates from this blog since they are in Tyoko, Japan! Not to mention this family has incredible style! They went to Kiddyland and I got to see for the first time where my friend went and got me a Domo keychain and they photographed the all the awesome style there! I just am loving all the updates from these two blogs lately! Check it out!
Sound of Rain! The rain is pouring right now at 6:11 AM outside of my apartment. It's very peaceful and a nice change from the tv noise.
Small town clans! I find that when you live in a small town and you move to a big city like Raleigh, when you do find people from your small town they want to clan together. I think it's very cute, I got a package in the mail from Tom's mom (of my stuff) and the mail people tried to get to me because it was the town that it was sent from! haha He talked to me about Sneads Ferry and though I'm not from there, it's nice to find people in this place.
LMAO! I laughed so much last night that I could deal with more of those! Our Monday night dinner friends are the funniest! They made me laugh until I got home. I saw "The Hangover" last night too! It was VERY funny. I laughed through the whole thing. I kind of want to go to Vegas now with my friends to have a crazy night. But, hold the quickie marriage, please.
Old books! I love the old book smell. That is all. I don't want to justify this one, it may be gross or weird but I love the smell of a book from 1964.
Taping! I'm figuring out the art of taping hoops and coming to appreciate a little more. I love that I'm figuring it out, more than I actually love to tape. Too impatient to be crafty.
Cybill! I found a show on Lifetime (I know, I KNOW!) called Cybill and it makes me laugh. A lot of funny women actresses are on that show. I love Maryann. A lot of Cybill's lines are pretty cheesy to me, but I enjoy it watching it! I started to DVR it and accept that I love this old show I never seen before. :)
Textures! I've been obsessed with textures lately. I like it in clothes, photographs, hair. I love when things have a grit to them. I tend to like rusty buildings and things like that too. It makes me want to photograph and draw or paint. I'm getting the creating bug.
Young at heart! I think realizing that I'm always gonna feel young makes me feel free to be more adventrous and do what I want! I don't know what to call that but young at heart. I want nothing more right now but to be silly, wear cowboy boots and blow bubbles while hula hooping. I've never felt this free before at the soul.
I'm not going to promise to do every week but I want to do these exercises more often! I feel better every time I write these out. Thanks for reading!
Vacation! Tom and I are going on vacation, as I've been raving about all week! This is the number one thing I'm looking forward to this week. We haven't been away from The Brewery in a while so I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to experience new things with Tom. *rave rave rave*
Blackberry! I really am still in love with my blackberry. It's easy to use, easy to backup, easy easy easy. Oh and I can talk all I want on it and have to worry about my minutes!
House Cleaning! I really feel good about getting the house under control, especially since we're about to leave. It really takes a lot overwhelming pressure off of me.
Good documentaries! Awww, man. I saw the Science of Sex Appeal and I've been fascinated in my brain every since.
Preparations! I'm stoked about going to Orlando, I'm trying to make the theme park experience a very comfortable, yet fashionable one. I got a backpack ready, to use, ponchos for sudden showers, and new sneakers for hours of walking around in. They are my very first pair of Nikes. I really have never owned a pair and I found one through a blog I read that I just fell in love with.
Star Trek! THIS MOVIE IS REALLY GOOD. I saw it the day before it came out. A "preview" screening and it was really good. I enjoyed it and would watch this movie again. And I hate watching movies.
New Haircut! I got an asymmetrical cut and sometimes it freaks out me out but today it was on point! I was really happy with it. I think it freaks me out sometimes because it's a little out there. But so am I. It works!
Sorry I'm in a hurry, gotta go to work! later!
Officially 7 Days before I go to Orlando to see Disney World! We are planning to go to other parks but I'm looking forward to Disney since we will be spending two days there. I have been and will re experiencing it through adult eyes. I was excited when I was younger to go because I had heard about it my whole little life. I'm going to get a Mickey Mouse hat too. I never got one when I was younger, and I regret that.
In my excitement I want to do a mini-Things I love TODAY!
The perfect weather, rainbow hula hoop, getting my shoulder duck out trick perfect; it gets more comfortable everyday. Being more comfortable in my own skin, having good friends to help you out, anticipating the trips I have to make, taming the house mess, my new sweater shawls from target ($6!), opening my desk toys from two years ago and setting them on a desk, this shot from Magic Kingdom, and watching Bridget's sexiest beaches.
Weather! I love weather that's in the seventies! It's been so nice to just go outside and not need to wear a jacket hang out there. I'm in love with it! I will be sad when it goes away. Our place is so well insulated we have to open the door to let cool air in. We're very lucky to have this place.
New Kitchen! LOVE the new kitchen, I'm in love with the walls, the trim, my toaster everything. I just love how everything looks in here, it's so beautiful! :) Our place isn't totally put together but it's slowly getting there. I didn't realize long a move takes. This is has been an adventure for us!
Trash can! We haven't had one since I moved to Raleigh and you really don't notice the luxury until you don't have one. I'm so glad to finally have a trash can.
Hooping outside! Oh it has more to do with the weather and the fact I'm getting back into a routine and not having to fill every minute with some sort of work. I'm taking a step back until the remodeling is complete and just enjoying myself. I'm learning new tricks too!
Uncovering SLR! Tom found my camera when he started unpacking and I'm happy with to be reunited with it! I love taking photos with it more than my camera phone or my point and shoot. I like being able to control the settings and getting the photo to look the way I want it to.
Bento box art! I love when people do those little artsy things with food. Edible art. I'm jealous of the time they spend making it look so good! :)
I think that's all for now folks! Later!
Lucky Charms! I love this cereal! MMM! It's so wrong but tastes so right!
Closet Shopping! I have too much clothes to add more right now so I've been trying to be a little creative and combine certain pieces together to get a new outfit. It's been interesting!
Coraline Website! This website is really cool! There is a pattern for the very cute star sweater that Coraline wears in the movie (It's in her bedroom, in the drawer). I want to learn to knit now! There are tea leaf readings, make your own flower, make your own button eyes portrait, and I really enjoy playing with these little features. Anyway all that aside, I really want to see this movie. I've never seen a stop motion animation film in the theater, so I'm excited by the thought of it. The HBO look into the film is awesome. It makes me excited for the movie. I love the handmade craftiness. It's refreshing in the digital age, no? I'm contemplating dyeing my hair blue but probably not. MAYBE!
Re-organizing! Gosh, I am doing some serious unpacking. But it feels slower right now because I have Tom's brother working in here to finish remodeling. But I have so much cabinet space now I'm re-arranging my life from the apartment to make the most sense here. I have to be choosy where I put my utensils and dishes and make sure they make the most sense. It's kind of insane. So this is a big reason why I haven't been around much for the last week and a half.
Professional paint! We have such a good paint colors in here and the work is awesome! I like seeing the care going into it. I'm so thankful we have someone who cares and takes pride in what they do. Everything looks so smooth, matted down, and clean!
Clean and Vacated! Tuesday Morning at 12 PM I am officially done with cleaning out the apartment. I moved the last of the items and don't have to go back for anything! I'm so glad to be done with it! Sunday night at 10:30 PM was when I was done with the major cleaning. My friend and I went in at 1:30 PM and left at 10:30 PM. It was a crazy day. I'm so so so glad to be done and now I can focus on my own place now!
Bubblicious! I was chewing the "sour green apple" and while I can chew it very long, I blow bubbles still like a little kid. Had to document it as my video self portrait.
I think I'm done for now. May come back and add some more. But bye for now!
