We had to drive all the way around Sneads Ferry because of a hit and run from where we normally come in at, because of that, I got to see this beautiful sunrise! I photographed it, even though I was tired and very happy I did! How lucky were we to sit on the dock and see that? (Though I was laying on my side and back most of the time when I was photographing these! ha ha!) After these photos, the light was in and you couldn't see the clouds after that.
I had a kinda crappy Monday day but I went out to see the band and take some photos. I tried to let the photos tell a story but I figure that might be hard. The show is self explanatory, excellent as usual. A small but energetic crowd with an energetic band = fun show! At the end of the show, when it was almost completely cleared out I saw a large ring of people come together and I started photoing it and got into a SUPERHUG! They do this a lot and they yell something silly but I couldn't remember what it was to report back. :( But it was fun, will try to be a crowd participator more!
The fun part of doing my hair, I hope the shade will be a bit brighter. Right now, I'm still porting my phone number, had a bit of trouble and it's taking a bit longer. I'm trying to use the phone as little as possible while this is happening. So the Canon is being a doll and stepping up to the plate. ;) You can't tell now but I had dye all over my face eariler, Lava soap really works so well.
We have people in our apartments today spraying, luckily they let us sleep until 1:30 PM and we are letting them stay until they get done here. They normally if we weren't here would have to leave at 5 PM. Anyway, we had to occupy our time and use it to our advantage. (Though I hate that I can't use the bathroom right now.) We had lunch, and I talked to the new phone company and straightened out some small problems that makes porting the number, much longer. We came to the gardens because I've been complaining that I really wanted to reshoot it with my new found camera knowledge. And I found it more challenging because I started to notice everything. There's a lot going composition wise and sometimes when I worry about the lighting I forget about the composition and vice versa. I have a long way to go before I can be photo master. *hangs head* All my photos after The Rose Garden have been all shot on manual and I LOVE IT. Even with the challenges. I like being in total control. So, yeah I'm a bit happier with these. The best experience I had at the garden today was just sitting with Tom and being in silence and peace of the garden. I think I understand why people go to them.
Today we spent the afternoon in Wilmington. Tom went to check out his friend's new house and I opted to go explore downtown by myself. I walked up and down Front St and down Water St. It's a very pretty down there, I took some photos of the houses and the boardwalk. We came down to Wilmington to have dinner and hang out with friends of ours that all happened to be in Wilmington the same week we came down to the coast. (Neat, huh?) So I killed an hour and a half taking photos and going into shops and buying a silly hat. After Tom decided I was all sweaty he scooped me up and took us all to Heironymous seafood restaurant. They had sea shell tables that I JUST HAD to document. But Tom and I had the same platter but it was a little cold for me. It didn't stay warm long at all. Anyway, that was my Wilmington day. It was so humid that I was drenched in sweat after walking around for 30 minutes.
Tom and I went to a blogger bash hosted by Ginny and Wayne tonight at Edge Office. The night was really cool, they introduced a project they've been working on called 30 threads. I BELIEVE it takes all the highlights of Triangle bloggers and puts them on one site so people can learn about the other bloggers around them. Anyway, they had free booze and food but by the time I got there it was cleaned out (and I ate already). The thing that bothered me the most, I thought Edge Office was just a place similar to Capstrat offices. I learned that they were a office furniture store. So I immediately became excited and looked for a lot of neat looking chairs in the office. It was a weird scavenger hunt. I met some new people and the regular faces. It was a lot of fun for me. Thanks for the invite, it was really fun!
Tom and I always try to go out to Monday Night to eat with his friends of 10+ years. I'm not a huge fan of Outback Steak House, honestly but there are two things I'll eat from there. Pasta and the shrimp above. However, I can only eat 3 pieces of fried shrimp and the rest, I pull out off the fried batter and eat it. It fouls up my stomach if I try to eat it all as is. I like the flavor but it makes me sick after 3 of them. But yeah, I haven't been able to use my camera so I thought I would use it tonight.
