Cute cupcakes! Making them, that is! Making super pink cupcakes is a joy.BTW: That style of decorating on those store bought cupcakes is my favorite to look at.
Burlesque! I love the fun nature of it. The stripping isn't bad either. I spent last night watching old burlesque videos.
Hugs! I like a sincere hug that says you are loved.
Nailing moves! I am starting to figure out the more complicated tricks with hooping and the feeling of accomplishment is incredible.
Compliments! Are always loved and appreciated here. Been getting a bunch lately and really appreciate it today.
True blood! The new season so far is really good, enjoying each episode.
This one is short and sweet. Just wanted to get one in before the day was over
Photographing! Tom's creative restlessness has made me want to photograph! Watching his want to create made me want to pick my camera and get out there. Which is why I photographed the sunrise on Father's day. I really enjoy trying to get the photos I will use on my blogs and whatnot.
Shorts + Cowboy Boots! I think that is going to be my "official summer outfit!" My cowboy boots complete the adventrous look in my mind. It may be a little offbeat for the summer cowboy boot look but that's how I roll. I feel this is my style.
Tough Love + Corky Saint Clair! Tough Love is a boutique in Raleigh up the road from work and I bought a Corky Saint Clair necklace from there. LOVE IT! I talked to the woman who runs the store and she is really nice and will let me hoop in front of her store, as she enjoys watching hoopers. She says the movements are soothing. How cool is that?! Anyway, her store is adorable and I wanted to give her my business. I got Donnie, the bunny necklace. I love this necklace because it's very sharp and it makes it feel more handmade by leaving it so....dangerous! I like that it is also very subtle and not super flamboyant like I normally would go for.
New Haircut! My hair woman I've been seeing, made the back shorter and thinned out the back so I could get that neat shape and staying close to my head. I have very thick hair and to see it more normal makes me excited. I kept it asymmetrical I just got it more shapely. A plus: it dries faster! I completely love this look!
Backpack! I love to carry around my Jansport backpack. It has the same color theme as an astronaut, white and grey. It looks like a marshmellow on my back. I'm loving this setup for me lately because it takes all the stress off my back and I can cram more stuff in my bag! Always a good thing. I'm not a super fashionista so I want something that will hold my stuff and not attempt to take off my shoulder. I feel this bag is a good compromise.
Sea of Shoes + Atlantis Home! I am loving the updates from this blog since they are in Tyoko, Japan! Not to mention this family has incredible style! They went to Kiddyland and I got to see for the first time where my friend went and got me a Domo keychain and they photographed the all the awesome style there! I just am loving all the updates from these two blogs lately! Check it out!
We had to drive all the way around Sneads Ferry because of a hit and run from where we normally come in at, because of that, I got to see this beautiful sunrise! I photographed it, even though I was tired and very happy I did! How lucky were we to sit on the dock and see that? (Though I was laying on my side and back most of the time when I was photographing these! ha ha!) After these photos, the light was in and you couldn't see the clouds after that.
I thought about not posting this but its funny! Warning: language is strong.
I was standing outside by myself and never heard a frog before and its 2 am and it freaked me out a little. Ha ha ha
Sound of Rain! The rain is pouring right now at 6:11 AM outside of my apartment. It's very peaceful and a nice change from the tv noise.
Small town clans! I find that when you live in a small town and you move to a big city like Raleigh, when you do find people from your small town they want to clan together. I think it's very cute, I got a package in the mail from Tom's mom (of my stuff) and the mail people tried to get to me because it was the town that it was sent from! haha He talked to me about Sneads Ferry and though I'm not from there, it's nice to find people in this place.
LMAO! I laughed so much last night that I could deal with more of those! Our Monday night dinner friends are the funniest! They made me laugh until I got home. I saw "The Hangover" last night too! It was VERY funny. I laughed through the whole thing. I kind of want to go to Vegas now with my friends to have a crazy night. But, hold the quickie marriage, please.
Old books! I love the old book smell. That is all. I don't want to justify this one, it may be gross or weird but I love the smell of a book from 1964.
Taping! I'm figuring out the art of taping hoops and coming to appreciate a little more. I love that I'm figuring it out, more than I actually love to tape. Too impatient to be crafty.
Cybill! I found a show on Lifetime (I know, I KNOW!) called Cybill and it makes me laugh. A lot of funny women actresses are on that show. I love Maryann. A lot of Cybill's lines are pretty cheesy to me, but I enjoy it watching it! I started to DVR it and accept that I love this old show I never seen before. :)
Textures! I've been obsessed with textures lately. I like it in clothes, photographs, hair. I love when things have a grit to them. I tend to like rusty buildings and things like that too. It makes me want to photograph and draw or paint. I'm getting the creating bug.
Young at heart! I think realizing that I'm always gonna feel young makes me feel free to be more adventrous and do what I want! I don't know what to call that but young at heart. I want nothing more right now but to be silly, wear cowboy boots and blow bubbles while hula hooping. I've never felt this free before at the soul.
I'm not going to promise to do every week but I want to do these exercises more often! I feel better every time I write these out. Thanks for reading!
I didn't take much video because I wanted to enjoy the experience. First thing I have to put aside, I couldn't see anything because I was in the lawn from our $10 lawn tickets we got a month ago. So these are really documentations of the songs I was listening to. I couldn't upload them from my phone because the video files were too big. So anyway, first video is the small intro and I continued it in the next video, which they opened with "Spiderwebs." They reworked the songs live and had a reggae-ish feel to them. The stage looked great and the lights were cool. I loved "Don't Speak" because EVERYONE was singing it. And I was documenting all the lighters and cell phones that came out.
They played: Spiderwebs, Underneath it all, Hella Good, Hey Baby, X Girlfriend, Don't Speak, Excuse me, Mr., Different People, New, Just a Girl, Rock Steady. I may have missed one or two, but it was a fun show and those listed are NOT in order. I enjoyed the party vibe, it was great.
I had a lot of fun and these are the last of what I had on my phone.
